Also known as Rockfish or Stripers, the Atlantic Striped Bass is a member of the moronidae family of temperate basses. Native to the Atlantic coastline of North America you can also find the species along the gulf coast and parts of the caribbean. Striped bass have been introduced to many freshwater areas for sport fishing and aquafarming, with many being crossbred with other bass species, these fish are called hybrid striped bass. 

Striped bass has white meat with a mild flavor and a medium texture. It is extremely versatile in that it can be pan-seared, grilled, steamed, poached, roasted, broiled, sautéed, and deep fried
